Information and Communication
Technologies (ITC) and eLearning
Mount Eliza North Primary School presents a range of technologies
to support student learning. These technologies encompass a range
of media, tools, environments and resources including rich, interactive,
online resources. eLearning creates engaging learning opportunities
and acts as a catalyst for authentic, meaningful learning experiences.
The power of technology lies in its ability to create global communities.
Teachers and students can now make connections and become global learners.
eLearning through effective use of technology supports students in:
-
Collecting,
analysing and organising information
-
Communicating
ideas and information
-
Planning and
organising activities
-
Working with
others and in teams
-
Solving problems
-
Developing
cultural understanding.
-
Bridging geographic
locations and time constraints
The physical environment
of Mount Eliza North Primary School supports excellence in curriculum
implementation through a high ratio of computers in classrooms, as well
as a bank of computers in the science centre. At Mount Eliza North Primary School, the use of additional
technologies, including digital and video cameras and editing, web cams,
scanners, projector and microphones, is an integral component of the schools business plan.
We endeavour to utilise software that engages students in authentic,
challenging tasks that encourage the development of thinking skills.

eLearning
provides the keys to doors we didn’t know existed. Doors that
lead to creative and collaborative lifelong learning.
Doors that create links across diverse cultures and within communities.
“eLearning supports convergence, connectivity, creativity and
community.”
